Amazing for the price January 24, 2010 Desert Rat 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
i agree with Jerry, this is an excellent hearing aid. I went to an audiologist and ended up with aids that cost a fortune, and did not help all that much, so took them back.
Then I recently got an IntelliEar and it works just as well, and better still, I can adjust the volume.
It is a little heavy and tended to slip a bit, but then I put on the largest of the earplugs, and that helps a lot. It is a bit ugly to wear all the time, but it picks up a lot of the sound I was missing in my right ear.
Two warnings: 1. On the back of the user guide, but nowhere on the website, does it warn it is not suitable for people with pacemakers. As mine is on the left side, and I wear the device on the right, I don't think it will be a problem.
2. Adjusting the volume, I began to get a hiss about half way, so then turned it down a hair and it works fine. However, whenever I get close to my computer, monitor, wireless phone or other powered devices, I get a strong hiss.
For the price, you can't beat this interesting hearing aid.

Inteliear for older May 27, 2010 James M. Knowlton 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a waterfall in the back yard, at 67 years of age, and 23 years in the military, i have lost my hearing. Now i can enjoy the sounds of the falling water, plus we have bird houses, now the families living in the bird houses, are having babies, it is great to listen to the birds calling for food and just the pleasure of hearing the water fall.
only partly works March 3, 2010 Max (Oregon) ordered two of these and one would not charge. The company was very nice to deal with, however, even tho I returned.
Too much background noise. August 2, 2010 Circuitrider76 I purchased these primarily for watching TV. I live in an apartment and don't want to have the TV volume high enough to bother my neighbors. Although these units help with the TV sound, they also pick up the sound of the air conditioner and anything else that makes a sound in my apartment. Consequently, I still cannot clearly hear the TV without turning up the volume. As others have mentioned, if you turn the volume up too far on the IntelliEAR Plus, you get a loud hiss. I tried these for several days then returned them and received a full refund, including shipping.
